Niyah (Circle) 1.jpg

Niyah Walters

Candidate for Vice President

My name is Niyah Walters and I am running for the position of Vice President of the Columbus Urban League Young Professionals.

I am interested in taking this leadership position because I am invested in continuing to create an experience for the urban young professional in the City of Columbus. I have served on the CULYP Board in various capacities thus providing me with knowledge about the organization and the skills to lead effectively. I hope that if given the opportunity to serve I can help grow CULYP's brand and create new, innovative ways to serve the young professionals of Columbus.

I believe I can bring my experience to the officer position as a former co-committee chairman and current officer. I believe I can bring new ideas on how we can serve our membership and give back to the Columbus Urban League, which I believe are the two most important things we do as an organization.

I believe I can bring my commitment to the organization and and our mission to the organization overall. I can speak first hand to how joining CULYP has completely transformed my Columbus experience. Joining this organization plugged me into the city and made it home for me. I think that is why CULYP Membership should vote for me. I love CULYP and I love Columbus and I want to make sure every other young professional in our city feels the same way!
